Frequently asked questions
How does it work?
Fresh old ginger juice, grated ginger pulp and pure ginger essential oil go in whole - so the warmth on your scalp is the plant, not a fragrance. the cleansing base is amino-acid and coconut-derived, which lifts oil without stripping.
Why does my scalp feel warm?
That's the ginger, and it's normal. Expect a comfortable heat and sometimes a mild tingle while you're washing; it fades as you rinse. If it ever burns or stings, rinse out and stop using it.
Is it good for postpartum hair?
It's a gentle wash for a fragile season. Postpartum shedding is hormonal and settles on its own with time - no shampoo changes that, and we won't pretend otherwise. What this does is treat your hair kindly while you wait, with silk protein and amino-acid cleansers instead of harsh detergents.
Is it sulfate-free?
Not quite, and we'd rather say so. It's free from SLS, SLES and silicones, but does contain ammonium lauryl sulfate - a gentler sulfate that gives the lather. If you avoid all sulfates, this isn't your shampoo.
How long does a bottle last?
Around four months at three washes a week.
